little Johnny
by Ernesto Friday October 28, 2005 at 10:58 AM

Little Johnny was in his 5th grade class when the teacher asked the children what their fathers did for a living. All the typical answers came up --- fireman, policeman, salesman, etc...

Little Johnny was being uncharacteristically quiet and so the teacher asked him about his father. "My father's a welfare queen who frequents gay bars. Sometimes, if he gets lucky at closing time and he catches the eye of someone desperate, and if the offer's fair, he'll go out to the alley with some guy and make love with him for money."

The teacher, obviously shaken by this statement, hurriedly set the other children to work on some coloring or Play-Doh, and took Little Johnny aside to ask him, "Is that really true about your father?

"No," said little Johnny, "He's an editor at the SF-IMC, but I was too embarrassed to say that in front of the other kids."

Something's missing. Interesting article. But including/citing Sf Indymedia was a bit strange. That was a republished article from elsewhere – the link to the original seems dead though. And no one pays attention to anything Nessie and co. at SF Indymedia have to say – that imc is, deservedly, a graveyard.

yeah, selling NAMBLA literature at your shop was COINTELPRO’s decision right?

I really doubt you are the real Nessie, but your are just as fucking self-righteous and insane. Nutter.

Wow! Only 5 bucks a month? Trading in lice futures apparently doesn't add much to your portfolio.

I don't march in the streets with the skanky A.N.S.W.E.R. garbage in order to prop up dictators. I don't have a Mao motif in my home. I'm not a human shield faker who turns tail and runs when I'm told I have to hang around the not so glamorous military installations or broadcast towers instead of schools and hospitals, (which I knew was never a target to begin with). I haven't turned a blind eye to Africa like the supposed "human rights" mewlers. I spoke out about Muslim women being driven back into a burning building when the supposed champions of womyn's rights didn't.

If I were in Iraq helping rebuild, I'd be accused of being with Halliburton, a favorite word with the sloganeering fuckwit clan. There's just no winning with raw Leftist sewage who cheered four Americans who were dragged through the streets of Fallujah.

So what do self loathing hate filled hippies who are too stupid to know the history of Communism and Socialism and Fascism truly do to end suffering in the world?

Be specific. Give examples.

Die Like a Dog
by nessie Sunday July 18, 2004 at 05:19 PM

Tip was a good dog. He was murdered in cold blood by a cruel and heartless man who got away with it because he is a cop. Tip is dead, but not forgotten. He lives in the hearts of those he left behind, and in the hearts of all who love dogs and justice more than they love the cops. Last Friday night, Tip's extended family held a candlelight memorial for him in front of San Francisco's main cop-shop/courthouse at 850 Bryant St.

Die Like a Dog...
hisfamily.jpg, image/jpeg, 499x264

When Tip was murdered, one of his human companions became quite understandably hysterical. Her name is Janet. She wasn't trying to hurt anybody. She was just screaming. She couldn't have hurt anybody if she wanted to. She was recovering from hip surgery, and was only able to walk with a cane and great difficulty. The cops wrestled her to the ground and restrained her. In the process, one of them broke his own sunglasses. So Janet was charged with assaulting an officer.

When I heard about this, I made it my business to be at the so-called “Hall of Justice” at 850 Bryant St. when Janet showed up for her first hearing. I interviewed her and two other witnesses. I have refrained from publishing it until now because I didn't want to jinx her case. Eventually, a judge threw the case out, but not before the ordeal had extracted time from Janet's life, and caused her a great deal of worry. As the SFPD take such joy in reminding the people they bust on bunk charges, you can beat the rap, but you can't beat the ride.

Some people would consider Chuck, Janet, and Dusty to be homeless people. Actually, they are vehicle dwellers. Their home is on wheels. The day Tip was shot, they were parked close to a dog park, along with a number of other similar vehicles. It is technically illegal to live in a vehicle on the street in SF. The loophole is you only have to move every 72 hours. There are several communities of vehicle dwellers in SF. They comprise a couple hundred individuals. They tend to look out for each other. They have to. The police push them around. All too often, the police murder their dogs, just because they can. All too often, the police also murder dogs who are companions of the truly homeless people, the ones who live on the sidewalk and under the bridges. While this happens fairly often, it is seldom if ever reported in the media. On the rare occasions that a middle class dog and the police tangle, it's news for days. Ask Max Castro, of San Francisco's Sunset District, or the Smoak family of North Carolina.

There are said to be ten to twenty thousand homeless people in SF. My guess is there are a lot more, and they just hide. There are a great many other people who are technically not homeless because they couch surf. My guess is based on personal experience. Giving away 1600 pounds of food every Thursday morning for six years in the eighties brought me into contact with a lot of hungry people. They included homeless people, couch surfers, vehicle dwellers and just plain poor people who have somehow managed to still hold onto their rooms and apartments. There are many of different kinds of poor people. They have little in common but poverty. But that's enough. Poverty is a full time job. Among the homeless, women are in the majority, a lot of them with children. You don't see them because they hide.

Back in the day, many vehicle dwellers drew a class distinction between themselves and the people who sleep in the bushes. Consistent and uniform persecution by the police has eroded this attitude by blurring the line between them. So has the increasing number of people who can’t afford to pay rent. Real estate speculation and Bush’s recession have made rent an unaffordable luxury for even many working poor. Then there’s the cops. If they tow your vehicle, it’s gone, and everything you own with it. you’re “kicked to the curb,” as the saying goes, and have to start over from nothing. None of Tip’s friends draw the distinction between those who live on wheels and those who live on their feet. Poor is poor. All poor people are in ever so slight variations of the same predicament. All are persecuted by the police. So are their dogs.

When you think of homeless people, you tend to think of disheveled winos, begging on the street. They are the ones you see, because they are the ones who don't hide. They are the tip of the iceberg. Far more common are people like Chuck and Janet, who are neither disheveled nor substance abusers, and their friend Dusty, who despite the moniker is clean and well dressed, and who is in recovery.

Tip was Chuck's dog, or rather, Chuck was Tip’s person. Chuck is Janet's significant other. Dusty is often their neighbor. Chuck, Janet and Tip were a family of three. Now they are just a grieving couple. For a living, they scavenge scrap metal. It pays only slightly better than welfare, and takes up a lot of time. But you don't have to punch a clock, or take orders from a boss. To some people, that's worth more than money. Scavenging is good exercise, too. It keeps Chuck in shape. I wish I looked as healthy as he does. The guy is built like a line backer. His size alone made the point in the narrative where he breaks down be a particularly heart rending moment. I gave him a big hug when it was over.

My connection with Tip is my friend Jane. Chuck saved Jane's life once. She made friends with him and Janet. Tip made friends with her. He was a very friendly dog. He made many, many friends. Most were poor. That's why he died the way he did. Rich people's dogs don't die this way.

Jane can't keep a dog where she lives, and she can't afford to move. She has a real deal on housing, and in this town, that's not something one walks away from. Rent is very expensive here. When you have a deal, you stick with it, or you have to leave town. New rentals are through the roof.

When Tip was alive, and Jane was feeling depressed, she would borrow Tip and they would go walking. He always cheered her up. Sometimes she borrows my dog for the same reason. Dogs are good for this sort of thing. Mammalian emotions are contagious, and it is very easy to make a dog happy. A dog can feel much greater happiness than its little brain can hold. The rest spills out, and gets all over whoever is nearby and has feelings. They act as a sort of amplifiering happiness reflectors. If you are so devoid of feelings as to be unable to share a dog's happiness, you're a psychic cripple. Get help. If that doesn't work out, you can always get a job with the SFPD. They hire people like you. You'd fit right into their culture.

For years, Jane tried to introduce me to Tip, whom she assured me I would like a great deal. She told me all about his personality, and how smart he was, and all the tricks he did, and how many friends he had, and how friendly he was, and how much people liked him, and how much I would like him, and when would I come and meet him? But I always kept putting it off, and now it's too late.

I'll never get to see him catch a tennis ball on the fly and drop it into the wire panniers of a moving bicycle. I'll never get to see him run along side and untie the cyclist's shoelace as he ran. I'll never get to see him lift from Jane's shoulders the crushing weight of depression that medication could never touch. I'll never get to shake his paw or rub his belly or feel his soft, warm tongue on my cheek. He's dead and gone, murdered in cold blood by a cruel and heartless man.

But he's not forgotten. He lives in the hearts of those he left behind, and in the hearts of all who love dogs and justice more than they love the cops.

What is actually happening here is that Zionists are attempting to discredit one of their vocal critics. Since there is no honest way to do this, they have become so desperate as to have stooped to the only tactic more petty, pathetic and puerile than a spelling flame, the fake typo.

That’s the kind of people Zionists are, deeply and fundamentally dishonest. But what else can we expect from people whose ideology is based on ethnic cleansing? Remember, the Zionists are to Jews what Nazis are to Germans, an embarassment to an otherwise admirable people. They are also people who who learned their trade while in the literal employ the Nazis:

http://sf.indymedia.org/news/2002/04/120352_comment.php#120573

http://sf.indymedia.org/news/2002/05/127448_comment.php#127704

They have mastered the “Big Lie,” and are in many respects more Nazi than the Nazis themselves. The only thing holding them in check, and keeping the body count of their victims so low, is their numerical paucity. But make no mistake about it, they have imposed upon the people of the so-called “West Bank” is their own version of the Warsaw Ghetto.

They take particular pains to counteract criticism from the left, because it puts lie to their claim that anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism.

And so, they put words into our mouths. Putting words into the mouths of one’s enemies is called in the trade, “black propaganda.” It’s a very, very old trick:

http://sf.indymedia.org/news/2002/12/1555696_comment.php#1555703

The culprit in this case is probably David Gehrig, a prolific Zionist mole based in UC-IMC, who appears to be pathologically obsessed with “nessie,” probably because, as “one of the editors” at SF-IMC, “nessie” banned him from using the site to spout his vile, racist, war mongering ideology of ethnic cleansing and colonialism. He also claims to not be a spammer.

Or maybe it’s IMC’s long time nemesis, SmashTheLeft, who apparently considers “nessie” to be his own, personal white whale.

Whoever the culprit is, he’s a proven liar. So take what he says with a large grain of salt.

We have two choices here.

One is an obvious troll, who makes no bones that's what he is. He's never pretended to be otherwise. He has prolifically stated that he's here to skullfuck nessie.

The other is nessie, a childish mental cripple, a talentless filler writer who for years has tooted it's horn about being a "journalist", though it has no bona fides beyond some alternative used asswipe, the likes of which you can get for fishwrap on the way out the door of Sam Goody's.

He's a known and highly chronicled spammer. He's a known and highly chronicled liar. When confronted, (as for example right on this page), of his lies and duplicity, then he tries to demonize the messenger.

He asked "who are you going to believe". Well, I'm the troll, and I admit it, and I didn't pull some incredibly idiotic stunt by linking to yet another page and say I'd answer only if a gun was held to my head..

What has he ever admitted to?

Hi. I'm nessie, Authentic Journalist. Since I'm such a sloganeering robotic fuckwit, and "Global Justice" is one of my idiotic adolescent buzzwords, why haven't I used my "talent" to go after the United Nations?

Now that's a scandal

The same media obsessed with the death count in Iraq - 2,000 deaths isn't news, but the 2,000th death is - have never shown much interest in what is without question the biggest scandal in world history: the United Nations oil-for-food program.

Paul Volcker's final report on the U.N. program was also overshadowed by the recent indictment of White House aide Lewis "Scooter" Libby, charged with lying in an effort to hide a crime that was never committed.

What Volcker concluded was that Saddam was enriched by $1.8 billion with the aid of about 2,000 companies that helped him skirt economic sanctions and keep himself armed. The result was the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi children who died of starvation or because they didn't get access to medicine - and more than 2,000 U.S. soldiers.

Now that's a scandal.

But it gets worse. Volcker's report concluded that Marc Rich - the man given the final pardon by President Bill Clinton even though he owed the United States millions of dollars in taxes and had fled the country - acted as a middle man for Saddam. It isn't a stretch to say that Rich has a lot of blood on his hands.

And does the name George Galloway mean anything to you? He is a British politician who has been relentless in his criticism of the war in Iraq. Turns out he was profiting as well from kickbacks from the oil-for-food program.

There were American companies involved in this scandal, but most could be found in France, Germany and Russia, which helps explains these countries' resistance to the war. Theirs was not a moral stance; instead they were motivated by greed and fear of exposure.

Nothing will be done because the U.N. does not have the power to go into these countries and pluck out the offenders and prosecute. A bit of indignation is in order, but for whatever reason that hasn't even been managed.

Violent or Peaceful Protesting
by Caleb-Dain Matton Wednesday, May. 29, 2002 at 7:38 AM
caleb_dain@yahoo.ca

Is Pacifsm Flawed???

VIOLENT PROTESTING VS. PEACEFUL PROTESTING

IS PACIFISM FLAWED???

Henry David Thoreau once said, “The question is not about the weapon but the spirit in which you use it”. It is important to note that as a protestor I see peace as the ultimate ideology but the use of violence as an inevitable means to get us there.

Before I dwell into the absolute justifying of violent protesting over peaceful protesting, I feel obliged to make you aware that I am peaceful by nature. I am kind to all living things and treat all life with respect. However I cannot tolerate the scum that corrupts our world. And that is where I draw the line.

So how did I come to the conclusion that violence against the establishment is warranted? Well, I am one in a rare and exceptional few who have that kind of love towards the tens of thousands of humans who die daily that makes me unable to endure patiently the mass of evil and suffering. This may be misjudged and misinterpreted in connection with propaganda by the media who points to protesters as being thugs and troublemakers. However, the media makes no attempt to say that starving someone to death or forcing children to work in sweatshops is where the true violence lies.

I believe in God so I have thought real long and hard about my violent use towards whom and what I believe to be evil and I have found that Christians have long supported force for what they believe to be moral ends. From the time of the Theban Legions through the Crusades and right up to present day when Bishops bless nuclear submarines. The Bible recounts the story of David and Goliath and Jesus’ anger as he flipped over the tables of the moneychangers in the temple. These are all accounts of Christianity justifying force. Even the Vatican and Pope reaffirm the standing teaching that armed rebellion is indeed morally justified in case of prolonged and stubborn tyranny. “Resistance to tyrants is obedience to God”. -- Thomas Jefferson.
The great pacifist Ghandi was stumped when asked a question during the Second World War. He was asked what course of action should the Jews take while Hitler aims to exterminate them all. His response was inevitably non-pacified. He said that the Jews should conduct a mass suicide! What a violent solution! But what else could Ghandi have said? There is no passive response to a tyrant’s actions.
My beef against peaceful protestors began while at a demonstration. I saw a protestor smash a bank window (smash Capitalism). Out of the blue a peaceful protestor came over to cry about it and was yelling and ranting to the window-breaker. I rushed over and told the peaceful protestor that this lousy bank window was not worth demoralizing this human being over. That it was just glass, nothing more. I then threatened to break some windows myself and asked him what he would do about it. Walk away was all he could do. See that is the thing about peaceful protesting. Peaceful protestors are automatically thwarted into a dilemma.

As an analogy of dilemma let’s say your neighbour is a mean person who frequently comes over and beats the shit out of you. You take these beatings because of your passive ideology but one day you see your neighbour hop the other side of his property and begins to beat the shit out of his neighbour. What would a peaceful protestor do if he couldn’t call the police? He can’t pull his neighbour off. That is direct action. Does the peaceful protestor just hope that the beaten man is passive as well and can handle this beating? At any rate the peaceful protestor has a decision to make whereas I don’t. I would hop that fence in a jiffy and do some serious ass-kicking. No dilemma here.

It wasn’t hard for me to become active with a jump-started violent attitude when it comes to protesting. I think I used the simple logic that if there is a rock on the road, you can’t ask it to leave, you have to pick that little sucker up and physically move it. I sometimes wonder when watching ‘BraveHeart’ how effective William Wallace would have been if he held a sign that read, “English, Please Leave”

The funny thing about peaceful protestors is I watch them sit in one place and then the cops simply charge into them and they all get up and move somewhere else to sit. At least try to follow through on your passive resistance and stay in one place, dying if you have to. Watching you run and sit, and run and sit just makes me dizzy.

Also, peaceful protestors get clubbed and pepper-sprayed like crazy and think that people at home are going to sympathize with them if they don’t fight back. Get it through your heads. The image of you being beaten and not fighting back has already been showed. It isn’t going to save the world. These people at home are a waste of skin who are cozy playing golf and could give two shits about what happens to you; peaceful or not.

But I know for a fact that people who do want to join the cause would more likely fight to defend their lives, rather than allowing themselves to be beaten and punished.

The established elitists can be compared to a child. They will try to take what they want. They will touch things that are not theirs. They need to be reminded who the parent is. When a child touches something he shouldn’t and you respond with saying “No” for the first time, this child does not know what that word means. There has been no corresponding action to the word so he has nothing to fear from hearing it, hence all your colourful signs at the protests. It isn’t until you say “No” and show some kind of punishment at that instance whether it be a light tap on their hand or some “time out” that the child will then be able to recognize the implication of the word “No”. Now that the child knows that the word “No” displeases his motives will they finally begin to take your plea seriously. You have to treat those with reckless power in the same manner. They need to be scared. They need to be intimidated. They need to know what “No’ means. One million people carrying signs walking in circles outside my house would not scare me but one million people charging into my house about to kick my ass would. Can you correlate the difference?

I bleed, bruise and get battered for what I see is ethically and morally right to my standards. I do the opposite to what my enemy says. If he says he will only tolerate a peaceful protest, I make sure to give him the most violent protest I can muster. The politicians cry for peaceful protest and say they will only tolerate this. Do you really expect this will change their heart? Would you even trust any ruling power which is wise enough to make sufficient arguments on how you should or should not protest against them be wise enough to know that something in their structure is obviously wrong to be protested against in the first place? Peaceful protestors give them exactly what they want: Song and Dance and No Fight!!

It seems that the effectiveness of non-violence is enhanced when it stands out in sharp relief against a backdrop of actual violence. In other words non-violence needs violence in the same way that stars need the night sky to show themselves off. Non-violence is too simple. It is an easy way not to get yourself hurt or sacrifice pain for others. It is a scapegoat in having to not get your hands dirty. Anyone sitting at home watching TV can claim they are non-violent advocators. As history dictates itself, experience has shown that evil left unchecked does not eventually defeat itself or go away – you either fight it or feed it.

I choose to fight it in a world where action speaks louder than words and I will continue my absolute style of violent protest.

I realize not everyone can fight such as old ladies and those who are disabled and we need a voice that co-exists with their punishment so as long as you choose to remain peaceful, I ask that you don’t knock my ability or try to stop me in the middle of a protest.

On a final note, I don’t dislike peaceful protestors. After all, we are working for the same cause. I do disagree with your absolute peaceful methods just as you mine. But I feel secure in knowing that in time after being constantly ignored but beaten and constantly unnoticed but bruised you too will inevitably fight back. Caleb

Although I agree that violent protest is more effective than peaceful, I think it is hypocritical for you to write a good majority of your essay on why peaceful protesting is dumb, and then end your essay with, "...as long as you choose to remain peaceful, I ask that you don’t knock my ability ..." Isn't that what you just did to them?

Violent protests don't work, either. Protests don't work, period. Only direct action works.

Nessie is gaggingly self-righteous, paranoid, conclusion-jumping, and authoritarian, a government agent, who uses provocateur tactics, and a false god, who is not where your salvation will come from, but is instead a poisonous snake, a soon to be deposed hater, a racist pig with an ex-lax jones, a dyke, a dork, a pathetic baffoon, an evil thug, a Nazi with an identity crisis, who is possessed by paranoid delusions, and is a dipshit, devoid of a moral spine, whom no one likes, who ate the Lindbergh baby, who advocates murder, while articulating his internal Disney-like reality, and who has been fired, and thrown out, to be replaced by a dyslexic monkey, even though he doesn't even exist, so somebody must believe that he really poses a threat.

That's a straw man. I said no such thing. I merely pointed out that to judge what I said, or what anyone says, on the basis of its style, and not its substance, is a logical fallacy.

FWIW, it not stale at all. It's as fresh as it ever was and more relevant today than ever. But even if it was stale, it's still true. The truth is what matters. not how it's expressed or by whom.

Tuesday's school board election in Dover, Pennsylvania, a quiet rural community near the Maryland border where churches seem to outnumber streetlights, was a fitting climax to a year of bitter division there. In a contest with national implications, Dover voters tossed an entire slate of Intelligent Design supporters, replacing them with backers of evolution.

The eight incumbents, calling themselves “Dover First,” were defendants in a lawsuit over a board decision last year to include a statement on Intelligent Design-a theory of creation favored by Christians-in all classes dealing with evolution.

Their eight challengers--running under the name “Dover CARES,” short for Citizens Actively Reviewing Educational Strategies-will now be free to ditch that policy.

At times, the campaign grew downright nasty. A mailing sent out to many Dover residents accused the CARES challengers of partnering with the ACLU-which, the flyer said, defends the North American Man/Boy Love Association's "right to put out information on how adults can lure young children into having sex with them."

What nessie neglects to mention is that it wrote a gushing schoolgirl paen to a NAMBLA idol (Harry Hay), called it a "great man", and under another moniker (bound together books) said that the NAMBLA newsletter has it's place.

books and periodicals about terrorism, pacifism, animal rights, conspiracy, crime, and a variety of other subjects that some people find repugnant. Not a single collective member agrees with everything in the store. We get along. You can, too.

If you don't like something you see for sale, don't buy it. If you don't like us because we sell it, or for any other reason, stay away from the fair. You won't be missed. Already too many people come to the Fair. If too many more people show up, the fire marshal will make us institute a one goes out/one comes in policy, and there will be a line to get in. We would prefer this not happen.

The Book Fair is not for everybody. If it's not for you, don't come. If you do come, be polite and respectful to everyone else there, table holders included, whether you like them or not. If you cause trouble, for any reason whatsoever, you will be physically ejected.

nessie@nambla.com

Looks like the heat's on, and I'll have to leave the United States.

Oh wait! SF is already a foreigh country. Never mind.

-----------------------------------------

Leaving Connecticut will no longer provide anonymity for sexual predators registered on its sex offender's registry now that the state has joined 47 others on the National Sex Offender Database.

All of the 4,136 registered sex offenders living, working or attending school in Connecticut will be included on the national website, Gov. M. Jodi Rell said Wednesday.

Connecting to this national registry gives us another tool to safeguard our most vulnerable residents and prevent future tragedies," Rell said in a written statement. "We must - and will - do everything we can to make our streets and neighborhoods as safe as we can."

The site, http://www.nsopr.gov, is easy to use, and requires only plugging in an offender's name, state, county, city or town or ZIP code in 48 states.

Adding Connecticut's information to the national database will be especially helpful to groups, such as Little Leagues, Boy Scouts and youth groups, which must check the criminal records of volunteers and employees.

"In some months, there are over 1 million hits to our registry," said Sgt. Sam Izzarelli, who heads the state police sexual offender unit. "Very often they are organizations or representatives of youth organizations who are checking the sex offender registries."

Izzarelli said it is possible for an offender from another state to slip into Connecticut, if the offender did not notify authorities he was moving.

"You could have an offender from New York, and you would not necessarily find it by doing a Connecticut only search," Izzarelli said. "[Now] you get to go to one spot, do one name inquiry."

In May, U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales invited all states and territories to link their public sex offender registries to the site at no cost, saying the "silent sex offender can be just as dangerous as notorious neighborhood gang members."

Offenses for the database include kidnapping, criminal sexual conduct toward a minor, solicitation of a minor to engage in sexual conduct, use of a minor in a sexual performance, prostitution, and "any conduct that by its nature is a sexual offense against a minor," or " sexually violent offense."

The website opened with 21 states, and others trickled in. Oregon and South Dakota are the only states not registered on the site.

In June, the Connecticut Department of Information Technology began working with the Department of Justice to link Connecticut's sex offender registry to the national database.

Last month, Rell directed the Department of Public Safety to work more aggressively with municipal police departments to help locate and prosecute convicted sex offenders who do not register their current addresses with the state. Rell also announced a $93,000 federal National Criminal History Improvement program grant to upgrade the state police tracking system to allow automatic and more timely notification to local police departments of sex offenders not in compliance.

Sgt. J. Paul Vance, a state police spokesman, said the state police website will be improved, including a direct link to the national site.

"It arms people with what is out there to increase the blanket of security for friends and family," Vance said. "It is putting everyone in one basket."

in review of black history month

Who Needs Black History Month

Nessie SFIMC EDITOR

During an interview with Nessie of SFIMC last month, Academy Award winning actor Morgan Freeman called Black History month "ridiculous," igniting a firestorm of debate about its observance. Freeman told a visibly shocked Wallace, "I don't want a Black History month. Black History is American History. There's no white history month."

Since Freeman's statements became public, I have read numerous editorials written by black intellectuals calling for the end of the celebration of black history month. The premise is that Black History month is no longer necessary, and that a 28 day observance both confines and trivializes the historic contributions of African-Americans in this country.

Prior to even thinking about what Freeman was saying, I had to first get over my continued outrage at white people asking black actors, athletes, and entertainers what they think about issues that are outside of their areas of expertise. Publicizing the opinions of Morgan Freeman doesn't make him a spokesman for the black race. I don't see anyone seeking out Robert DeNiro for opinions about Iraq, but that's a whole different discussion.

But in response to Freeman's comments, all I can say is, "Please."

Celebrating Black History Month no more confines the history of African-Americans than the one day MLK holiday confines the achievements of Dr. Martin Luther King. Or that St. Patrick's Day confines the history of Irish-Americans to March 17th. Want to know how to trivialize African-American history? Eliminate Black History Month.

Mr. Freeman and others maintain that in place of Black History Month, black history should be held separate from the mainstream history of America. Their thought process is that black history can be celebrated every day by its proper place in American history. Mr. Freeman went so far as to ask Nessie, "Which month is white history month?" The answer unfortunately, is that there is no white history month in this country, and it is precisely for this reason that Black History month remains ideologically unsound.

Sylvia Cyrus-Albritton, director of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History, (which originated the observance of what is now Black History Month), points out that the country still has a long way to go in making its history interesting. As she told the Baltimore Sun We just don't have much to write about:

"We have a mission to research, promote, preserve and disseminate information about the contributions of African-Americans in history and," she said. "That mission is complete. Maybe celebrations like Black History Month can take a different slant. American history books -- and the way it is taught -- do include the full contribution of African-Americans.

"Dr. Woodson hoped that one day there would no longer be a need for Black History Month because it would be incorporated into American history . So the goal Morgan Freeman speaks of is our goal as well."

In some ways, I can understand where Freeman is coming from. Ideally, we wouldn't have to have a special Treatment because American history would be inclusive of all history. Freeman, however, also seems to be advocating that we shouldn't even speak of our differences. Instead, we should just affirm that not only is everyone equal, And that we are the same.

When Nessie asked Freeman how we can get rid of racism, he replied:

"Stop talking about it. I'm going to stop calling you a white man. And I'm going to ask you to stop calling me a black man. I know you as Nessie. You know me as Morgan Freeman. You wouldn't say, 'Well, I know this white guy named Nessie.' You know what I'm saying?"

I don't know about you, but I simply agree with Freeman. We will solve racial issues in this country by ignoring the race baiting Jessie Jackson's ,and al Sharpens in the world. We can accept our own racial past and affirm to ourselves that everything is ok in America. Our society still remains ideal in many ways, from where we live and where we worship, to who survives a hurricane. We are a society beyond racism, but reality that's what it's all about.

It's been said that history is written by the victors. American history became more inclusive of the contributions of all its citizens, our need for BLACK HISTORY MONTH Has finally passed

what eludes a mental cripple
by Authentic Loser™ Wednesday May 17, 2006 at 09:01 PM

"not stale, eh?"
by bunk logic Friday November 04, 2005 at 07:54 PM

That's a straw man. I said no such thing. I merely pointed out that to judge what I said, or what anyone says, on the basis of its style, and not its substance, is a logical fallacy.

FWIW, it not stale at all. It's as fresh as it ever was and more relevant today than ever. But even if it was stale, it's still true. The truth is what matters. not how it's expressed or by whom.

This self evident truism eludes Smashy. Don't let it elude you, too.

nessie the bedwetter
by nessie the bedwetter Saturday May 27, 2006 at 10:07 AM

So let me get this straight. Because nessie posted and interview piece posthumously eulogizing Harry Hay, you want to make nessie out to be a pedophile? What sort of bunk logic is that?

nessie toots it's horn as if it's some kind of "effective journalist", but the horrific mental cripple posted something "eulogizing" a man prominently featured on NAMBLA's web site. Didn't nessie do any investigating before posting such a gushing schoolgirl paen to someone featured prominently on NAMBLA's web site? Does nessie expect us to believe he innocently posted  a gushing schoolgirl paen to someone featured prominently on NAMBLA's web site?

If you had even a shred of intellectual honesty or moral clarity about you, you'd be forced to admit that that simply isn't rational.

nessie is a known and documented pathological liar, who when confronted, attacks your logic, your thinking processes, your mental faculties. as he's known to say himself, nessie is guilty of projection. There's no moral clarity to people that write gushing schoolgirl paens about perverts featured prominently on NAMBLA's web site.

For instance, just because you're an appologist for Israel, as a rational person I don't believe that even YOU condone all of the evil and wicked treatment of Palestinian people.

nessie for years has spammed the Collective about COINTELPRO, of injecting noise and confusion. Also, considering his spam about ad hominems and changing the subject, how can nessie logically and rationally link the eeeeeeeeeevil Jews with his posting a gushing schoolgirl paen to some pervert featured prominently on NAMBLA's web site?

Of course, I could be wrong, but I choose to believe that in general people are good.

Except for 99.5 percent of the Jews. or those who defend Israel. Or whites. Or heterosexuals. Or those who want the terrorists to be wiped from the face of the planet.

But let's cut through this bullshit.

Yes, anything by nessie is bullshit of the lowest common denominator. But an ad hominem is not a rebuttal. Perhaps I'm illogical for pointing out that nessie truly is a talentless mental cripple?

A Harry Hay thread on SF Indymedia isn't the sole reason you chase nessie around the internet with a pickaxe, is it? (If it is, you honestly need to get a life.)

Here's where nessie reveals another side of himself. That Irish blogger's rejection of him has nessie in a fit. nessie sent a wet diaper to said blogger, the typical sob story about they hate me! and this is just fishing for proof to return to Ireland and say See? They really do hate me! I tol' ya, I did, I really really really did! Boo hoo!

So why don't you tell us all now why it is exactly that you hate nessie so fervently.

That Irish blogger has nessie swooning, don't she?

Feel free to list your grievances. Be specific.

nessie, also known as debate coach, forgot to add give examples. It's not like he really tried to hide who he was. or maybe he gave his Olympian best, and is just not smart enough to pull it off. Oh well, as he has himself said, if we don't believe him, we're stupid.

Swoon and marvel at how nessie runs whining and spraying urine to a blogger. You'd think a 60 something year old would have the balls to take things in stride, but no, not nessie.

--------------------------------------------------------

Please be aware that the Indymedia thread entitled "Obese, Ugly Single Man Not
Seeking Same" was not actually written or posted by me. It's a forgery, one of
literally thousands that are part of a political smear campaign against me that
is being conducted primarily by a single person, a notorious right wing troll
who calls himself "SmashTheLeft."

Google "nessie Indymedia" and you will see the scope of this smear campaign.
This guy hates me because, in my capacity as one of the moderators at San
Francisco Indymedia (http://sf.indymedia.org), I banned him from posting. He
apparently has some mental issues, and acts out online. He is obsessed with me.
I've become his personal white whale. He slanders me and forges my name to lies
on Indymedia almost every single day. On occasion, he also threatens my life.
He's not the only one, either. My politics has earned me a number of
unscrupulous enemies. They employ what in the intelligence trade is called
"black propaganda" in an attempt to discredit me, and impede my ability to
function as an effective, grassroots political organizer.

Black propaganda is a very old psychological warfare technique. Consider, for
example, this incident from the Irish War of Independence:
http://sf.indymedia.org/news/2002/12/1555696_comment.php#1555703

That was then. Then the target was members of the Irish independence movement,
This is now. Now I'm a target, primarily because of my work as an activist in
Indymedia and in the Global Justice Movement in general.

Here's one Irish person's take on the phenomenon. His name is Anthony and he is
an active member of Ireland-Indymedia:

(1.) I'm an educator. People today, especially activists, need to know the mechanics of political repression. What better way to educate the than by pointing out examples?

(2.) I reject out of hand the idea that my government name, which I was *assigned* at birth is any more real than any name I *choose* of my own free will.

>I might understand a little better if you were using your real name, but you aren't.

There is a valuable lesson to learned here. An effective activist is in physical danger. One of the main reasons I've been able to remain active for so many decades, without being murdered or thrown into prison, is that I protect myself. You should, too.

There's another lesson. If you use your real name, you risk becoming the focus of a personality cult. Personality cults are extremely destructive to our movement. Real activists avoid fame like the plague. Our movement is not about individual leaders, but about collective leadership. Besides, if you get famous enough, you will be mistaken for a leader and singled out for persecution. Don't do it. It's a really bad idea. Ask Fred Hampton.

> You write like you live in a fantasy world. My parents named me. I think something is wrong with you.

I live in America, a thinly disguised police state. I've been politically active here for nearly forty years. I'm in it for the long haul. I'm a realist. I know from considerable study in the classroom, the library and the field that to survive as long as I have, an activist must take certain precautions. So I have. So far, they're working. Unlike some of the comrades I came up with, I'm still alive and I'm not in prison. So I must be doing something right.

Most people I know personally, like me. Some don't. That's OK. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Some people hate me with a passion. Most of them have never even met me.

That's OK. I don't mind if certain kinds of people hate me. In fact, it validates my work. If I wasn't doing something right, certain people would not be putting so very much time and effort trying to smear me all over Indymedia. So I take it as a compliment.

But make no mistake, it's a smear job. Don't fall for it. It's straight out of COINTELPRO. If you don't believe me, read history and find out for yourself. Don't take my word for it. Do your own research.

Here is a good place to start:

http://www.radio4all.org/aia/sec_cointelpro.html

If you're going to be active, you need to know history.

As some dead guy once said, "To not know what happened before you were born is to remain forever a child."

by there they go again Saturday June 10, 2006 at 05:48 PM

Anti-Zionists did not slaughter that poor little girl's innocent family. It was Zionists who did it, and all the gibberish, lies and distractions can' hide it from the world. In fact, Vancouver IMC was one of the first places they spoofed the name. V-IMC has since died a well deserved death, as did Brisbane, Idaho, etc.

Next, *this* haven for liars needs to clean up its act or be disaffiliated, as does that other haven for liars, Pgh. IMC, and that vile, racist sh*thole, NC-IMC.

It'll happen. It's only a matter of time. IMCistas are maturing politically, and the network is maturing with them. Little by little, one site at a time, Indymedia is cleaning up its act. Once a network wide policy of zero tolerance for disinformation, enemy propaganda and gibberish is in place and rigorously enforced, Indymedia can, at last, be a threat again.

"That made absolutely no sense."
by easy explanation Saturday June 10, 2006 at 07:31 PM

That's because it wasn't written by "nessie," but by one of those trolls who tries to imitate "nessie's" style. There are several of these trolls. This particular one doesn't seem to be very good at it.

Another possible explanation is that he is very good at it, and wrote a piece of black propaganda whose very intent is to make "nessie" look like he doesn't make sense. At other times, they have written stuff they presented as being by nessie, that if they were real, would make "nessie" look like a Nazi, a child molester, a snitch, a felon, a drunk, or whatever they happened to want you to think about "nessie" that day. So trying to make him look like he doesn't make sense would certainly fit the pattern.

But think about this. Why would anyone put this much effort into trying smear "nessie"? It's a lot of work, and they've been doing it pretty much everyday now for years. Why? Is "nessie" really that important? If not, what is motivating them? Why are they wasting their time on what is supposedly a small time nobody, when they could be doing something important and worthwhile with their time? What is it that "nessie" does that they think is worth spending this much time to counteract? Could it be that he's telling the truth about some things they really, really, really don't want you to know about? If not that, what then?

Just wondering.

nessie has been documented in this lie, and he's now claiming that trolls are the ones who flamed Shashy?

"Did nessie post these words? YES or NO: "
by one more time Monday June 12, 2006 at 10:20 AM

No, nessie did not post that. It was probably Smashy, setting up fraudulent "evidence" for his spurious claim that "Die Like a Dog" was edited. virtually every day for years he and his crew have posted stuff that nessie didn't write, and signed his name to it. Sometimes it is anti-Semitic propaganda. Sometimes it is gibberish. Sometimes it is a near quote, that has had a few words changed to alter the meaning. On rare occassions, they post something nessie actually did write, but out f context. This is not such a case. This is yet another fabrication, one of countless such fabrications.

We can only wonder why anyone would go to such lengths to smear an IMCista. Three possibilities come to mind:

(1.) Perhaps this is one guy, SmashTheLeft, who has severe mental problems, not much of a life and access to a computer at work, or more likely, at his parents house.

(2.) Smearing any IMCista smears the whole network. There is a group of right wingers, "connected via email and personal web sites,: who are using every trick in their book, dirty and otherwise, to take over Indymedia, and when that failed, to discredit it.

They even confessed, or bragged, depending how you look at it:

http://vancouver.indymedia.org/news/2004/04/123358_comment.php

(3.) Perhaps it not the work of one mental defective with a compulsion to act out in public, but cold, calculating psy-war. The Zionist propaganda mill knows full well that their grip on the progressive left is slipping fast. They are scrambling desparately to control Indymedia because they realize that it is one of the few places where they can still talk to progressive leftists. Nessie is an outspoken anti-racist who has relentlessly campaigned for their compete and total ban an all racist propaganda on Indymedia, not just Zionist, but Nazi, Klan or whatever. This is a direct threat to the Zionist propaganda mill's ability to spew their racist filth in front of a progressive left audience. So they have taken it upon themselves to attack nessie everywhere, and in any way, that they can. They publish anti-Semitic propaganda cut and pasted from Nazi sites, and sign the name "nessie" to it. The repost stuff nessie actually wrote, but with a few words changed to alter it's meaning. They attempt to portray nessie as a racist, a snitch, a child molester, a drunk, a felon, etc., in transparent, and thus vain, attempt to discredit him, and with him, anti-Zionism.

For details, see:

http://www.sfimc.net/news/2002/12/1555696_comment.php#1692248

So maybe it not Smashy, or the FR/PW/KOBE cabal who is responsible for this, but the Zionist propaganda mill. That it is the work of the Zionist propaganda mill is the most likely explanation, because it is a fairly sophisticated maneuver. On the other hand, it is Smashy who obsesses on this alleged typo. To have planted bogus evidence this far in advance does appear to be a lot more sophisticated than Smashy usually appears capable, On the surface, Smashy appears to be fairly simple minded. But he may not be simple minded at all. It may be a ruse. Or, he may not even exist. He may be a sock puppet, a literary character created by a sophisticated psy-warrior.

Perhaps, we shouldn't worry too much about which of IMC's many enemies posted this disinformation and forged nessie's name to it. Whoever it was, (s)he was lying. Until there is a network wide, rigorously enforced, zero tolerance policy for disinformation and forgery, Indymedia can *never* be taken seriously as a source of news nd no IMCista can be taken seriously as an activist. Indymedia's enemies know this, They also know that nessie is a tireless campaigner for such a policy. That alone is enough to make him target for an attack. When a message is too true to attack, often it is the messenger who is attacked instead. That is what we are seeing here. It's an ad hominem, i.e., bunk logic. It's a trick. Don't fall for it.

A simple YES or NO would have sufficed, but since nessie has it's scrawny ass nailed to the wall, it went into a rambling screed about Zionists and spooks and how it's the Savior of the Indymedia™.

You talk too much, idiot bastard. You lied, and it's documented.

http://onegoodmove.org/fallacy/style.htm

Style Over Substance

Definition:

The manner in which an argument (or arguer) is presented is taken to affect the likelihood that the conclusion is true.

Examples:

1. Nixon lost the presidential debate because of the sweat on his forehead.
2. Trudeau knows how to move a crowd. He must be right.
3. Why don't you take the advice of that nicely dressed young man?

Proof:

While it is true that the manner in which an argument is presented will affect whether people believe that its conclusion is true, nonetheless, the truth of the conclusion does not depend on the manner in which the argument is presented. In order to show that this fallacy is being committed, show that the style in this case does not affect the truth or falsity of the conclusion.

That's a straw man. We don't know who is "in on it." But somebody is. Maybe it's just Smashy. Then it wouldn't be a conspiracy, because Smashy is only one guy. If it was two guys, then it was a conspiracy by definition. Either way, it happened.

Things like this do happen. Get used to it. It's part of the political landscape. Sometimes, the perps even confess:

Google "nessie Indymedia" and you will see the scope of this smear campaign. This guy hates me because, in my capacity as one of the moderators at San Francisco Indymedia (http://sf.indymedia.org), I banned him from posting. He apparently has some mental issues, and acts out online. He is obsessed with me. I've become his personal white whale. He slanders me and forges my name to lies on Indymedia almost every single day. On occasion, he also threatens my life. He's not the only one, either. My politics has earned me a number of unscrupulous enemies. They employ what in the intelligence trade is called "black propaganda" in an attempt to discredit me, and impede my ability to function as an effective, grassroots political organizer.

Transvestite gang pesters Magazine Street
By Richard A. Webster Staff Writer

NEW ORLEANS — Robyn Lewis, owner of Dark Charm fashion and accessories for women, represents the first line of defense for the Magazine Street shop owners. She is the first to see them come strutting in their pumps down St. Andrew Street, the bewigged pack of thieves who have plagued the Lower Garden District since May.

Like an SOS flare, Lewis grabs her emergency phone list and starts calling.

“They’re coming,” she warns Eric Ogle a salesman at Vegas, a block down Magazine Street. Ogle, who was terrorized by the brazen crew two months earlier, alerts neighboring Winky’s where manager Kendra Bonga braces for the onslaught.

Soon every shop owner in the 2000 block of Magazine Street has been alerted.

Sarah Celino at Trashy Diva eyes the door, ready to flip the lock at the first sight of the ringleader’s pink jumpsuit and fluorescent red wig.

Down at Turncoats, where the fashion-happy gang once made off with more than $2,000 in merchandise, store manager Wes Davis stands ready.

Davis said it wasn’t supposed to be like this. They survived Hurricane Katrina’s Category 3 winds and the ensuing looters. They reopened despite the long odds of doing business in a devastated city. The last thing the Magazine Street shop owners expected to threaten their survival was a crime ring of transvestites.

“They’re fearless,” said Ogle. “Once they see something they like they won’t stop until they have it. They don’t care, they’ll go to jail. It’s really gotten bad. You know it’s ridiculous when everyone on the block knows who they are.”

Expensive tastes

The transvestites first appeared in March when they raided Magazine Street like a marauding army of kleptomaniacal showgirls, said Davis, using clockwork precision and brute force to satisfy high-end boutique needs.

They first hit Vegas March 31 while Ogle was working.

“They come in groups of three or four. One tries to distract you while the others get the stuff and run out the door. It’s very simple,” Ogle said.

Next door at Winky’s, Bonga heard people screaming inside Vegas, then saw a blur of cheap wigs and masculine legs in designer shoes streak past her door.

“All of a sudden our UPS guy dove out of the store and tried to tackle them and there’s little Eric from next door on the sidewalk with a bunch of stuff he managed to grab from one of the guys,” Bonga said. “The other two guys took off down the street and jumped into a car driven by a real girl.”

Ogle gave police a description of the perpetrators — African-American males ranging in height from 6 feet to 6-5. They all wore the same midriff shirts and wigs with twisted, dreadnaught hair.

“They’re all very skinny and very flamboyant,” Ogle said.

Two hours after the police left, the transvestites returned to Magazine Street to storm Turncoats just a block away from Vegas, and made off with more than $2,000 in merchandise.

“They move like clockwork,” Davis said. “Two thousand dollars is a lot for our store to lose, especially being in the slow summer season. It makes it so I can’t even mark my stuff down as much as I want to because I’m trying to make up for what I lost.”

In the ensuing weeks, the gang of transvestites continued their reign of terror. Sometimes they come dressed as men, though Bonga said it is obvious who they are based on their delicately plucked eyebrows. Sometimes they bring 2-year-old children to add to the level of distraction. They once returned to Vegas holding an “infant” that really was a Cabbage Patch doll wrapped in a blanket.

“They’ll make themselves scarce for a few weeks and then one day you’ll be busy with a customer and all of a sudden there’s a whole slew of them in your store and there’s nothing you can do because you’re there by yourself,” Lewis said.

Scarce evidence

The New Orleans Police Department investigated the Turncoats robbery but unless police catch a shoplifter in the act or in possession of stolen property there is little they can do besides take a report, said NOPD spokeswoman Bambi Hall.

“If store security states that someone took something, and then by the time we apprehend them they don’t have the property, then there’s really nothing we can do because it’s their word against the (suspect),” Hall said.

Lewis said she understands the understaffed NOPD has bigger priorities than to “catch a drag queen running down the street with an armful of clothing.” So the store owners created their own watchdog system unofficially known as the “Drag Queen Alert List,” a comprehensive phone roster of every business on the block with stars next to those who carry guns.

When one shop owner spots a gang member, they immediately warn everyone on the block and raise their defenses in unison.

When they enter Turncoats, Davis said he locks them inside the store, which “freaks them out,” and they leave.

Celino said she doesn’t even wait for them to enter the store.

“A couple weeks ago, a group of them was outside and one looked like the guy who came in here and ripped us off so I locked the door on them,” Celino said. “I know maybe that’s rude, if they really were innocent people, but there’s nothing else we can do. You look like the queens who ripped us off so I’m sorry but I have to lock the door.”

Ogle and Bonga say they regret being forced to resort to such profiling but they feel they have no other choice. The transvestites, Ogle said, appear to be drug-addicted and fearless in their lust for designer shoes, jackets and jewelry.

“The city’s not functioning the way it was and I’m sure a lot of them were getting some kind of government aid, which they probably aren’t getting any more so they’re incredibly desperate,” Ogle said.

And sometimes violent.

When Lewis co-owned Trashy Diva, they attacked one of her partners in the French Quarter location, throwing her to the ground and tossing a heavy mannequin on top of her.

“They’re kind of confused because they think they’re women so they don’t mind hitting women, but they’re dudes. If you get hit by one it’s like getting hit by a dude. ... Because the police are so poorly staffed, we’re kind of on our own but the system we have seems to be working. I haven’t seen them in at least a week but they’ll be back. They’re never gone for long.”•
